Inside the Commission
Nothing begins
with a suit.
It begins with a person, an occasion and an idea of how they want to show up. The garment comes after.
01 — The Conversation
Before we ask
what you want,
we ask why.
The occasion matters, but so does the person walking into it. How you dress now, what you reach for repeatedly, what you avoid, and how you want to feel all shape the commission.
Where are you going?
How do you normally dress?
What never feels quite right?
How do you want to feel in the room?

Cloth / Cut / Detail
02 — The Decisions
There is no
default.
Cloth is only one decision. Structure, proportion, lapel, buttons, lining and finishing all change the character of the garment.
03 — In the Hands
Before it fits you,
it exists in pieces.

The finished garment hides most of the work that made it possible.
Construction is where two dimensions become three: cloth is shaped, balanced and assembled so that it eventually belongs on a moving body.
04 — The Fitting
Measurements tell us where to begin. A fitting tells us how the garment actually behaves on you.
We're not checking
a size.
We're reading
the garment.
Shoulder
Where the jacket begins. The line should sit cleanly without fighting the body beneath it.
Balance
How the garment hangs from front to back — considered around stance and posture.
Waist
Shape without restriction. Enough definition to give form, enough room to move naturally.
Sleeve
Length, pitch and the relationship between jacket cuff, shirt cuff and hand.
Trouser
Rise, line and break considered as part of the whole silhouette rather than in isolation.
Tailor's Note
A good fitting does not ask whether the garment matches the measurements. It asks whether the garment belongs to the person.
The Last Fitting
Then it
becomes yours.
The final fitting is the last time the garment belongs to the atelier. After that, it belongs in your life.
